Women Who Love Wine And Wine Tastings

As a wine afficionado and author I often hear from women who like to make wine from wine kits. In fact, I recently attended a fabulous wine tasting party held by a group of women who have created a dynamic wine club and are making great wines from wine kits.

This gathering of friends have three common interests: 1) they all love good wine and good food, 2) they all enjoy an extensive variety of wines, and 3) they love to hold great wine tasting parties. Within this group are mothers and daughters, sisters, co-workers and longtime girl-friends.

I first became acquainted with this group of women because as a group, they asked for a group discount for a copy of my ebook “Everything You Need To Know About Wine Kit Making.” When they first started their club they insisted that every member have a copy and read it through, so everyone understood the “how-tos” and “whys” of wine kit making. “This”, they said, “removed any fears, or doubts they had, walked them through the entire process, and gave them a handy reference if any questions turned up.”

The group wisely chose to make wine kits because they wanted to enjoy a variety of excellent quality wines without “breaking the bank”. By splitting the costs and sharing in the work, each person in the group is rewarded with a fine assortment of wines to take home to enjoy.

They now make a large number of wine kits when they get together. At each meeting, they always choose which wines they will make for the next time, because they all have favorites they enjoy while cooking, or to pair with meals, or simply for relaxing.

As the group chooses the wines to make, they always try to choose four to six new white and four to six red wine types to try. They also make fruit wine kits for summer entertaining and ports for holiday gift giving. Not only do they enjoy great wines from their club but they have fun getting together during the different stages in the wine making process.

After the wines have properly aged, they get together for a social evening with a wine tasting that features their own wines. They set a beautifully decorated table of carefully chosen cheeses, crackers and hors d’oeuvres. Then they taste the new wines they made and judge them. They prefer a blind tasting, which means that a paper bag is wrapped around each of the bottles so they don’t know which wine they are trying. This makes their wine tastings always interesting and a lot of fun. I was privileged to offer a toast and salute their fine skills as vintners.

As you can see, making wine from wine kits is fun and will save you a lot of money. Consider starting your own wine kit or forming a wine kit making club soon and before long, you will be sipping your own delicious bottle of homemade wine.
