Will toilet paper be the new American currency in 2009?

When Congress approves the bill and passes it to Bush to sign the $700 billion bail out to buy toxic mortgage from banks. Wouldn’t that just make our already depreciating dollars become our new American toilet paper?

This move certainly cannot help the value of our dollar. Since I am not an economist, and since I don’t have much knowledge about economics, I have to defer to nonpartisan experts on the issue, and most are unanimous in their opposition to this most egregious act of corporate welfare.

If this bailout doesn’t devalue our dollar, it certainly does not set a good precedent for the future. Conservatives rail against those who rely on welfare, or those who are irresponsible with their personal finances. They callously state that these people should suffer the consequences of their actions, so that personal responsibility will be cultivated in this country.

Yet, just like with so many things the conservatives support, they have their double standards. Take this same irresponsibility that is practiced on the personal level, and expand it to the corporate domain, and all of sudden these same conservatives are asking for handouts as vigorously as the most parasitic panhandler.

Its funny, that so many conservatives, including our President, feel that their credentials as businessmen can help them run the country, but when they get into office, and try to run this country as a business, we lose money instead of gaining it.
